August 2026 - Whitehill
CAPTAINS REPORT Hi Golfers! Another great day out at the lovely White Hill GC, it never disappoints. Even though conditions were remarkably tough there were still some good scores (not mine). Once again the Captain’s Day was well supported with over 30 guys attending. So thanks again it’s much appreciated. Congratulations to all our winners - Our winners gallery ..... Good to see that the that tension is also building in the Champion Golfer competition... The current st

July 2026 - Aspley Guise
CAPTAINS REPORT Well another well supported (27 players) great day out at the lovely Aspley Guise GC. The weather gods were really with us again even my booking of a sprinkle of rain on the way there to soften the greens. The course seemed to be very popular with the first timers and I’m sure we will go back there again. Imagine it when it’s green again! The staff looked after us really well and the food was excellent. A big thank you to our sponsors for the day again; Da

June 2026 - St Neots
CAPTAINS REPORT Well St Neots GC didn’t disappoint! We haven’t been there for 3 years, the course was in fabulous condition and it was as popular as ever. And what a great turnout 37 players!! Thanks for your continued support. I must say a big thankyou to our sponsors for the day; John Tarbox and Tim Watkin-Rees for their generosity. May 2026 - South Beds
CAPTAINS REPORT A special day for the Society as we gathered for our President’s Day at South Beds. It was great to see a healthy turnout of 23 members, and as always, I am very grateful for the continued support of the group. It’s been a long time since the Society last played South Beds, and the course certainly didn’t disappoint. The exceptionally windy conditions kept everyone honest and ensured that scores remained realistic throughout the day! The staff looked after u

March 2026 - Knebworth
CAPTAINS REPORT A fantastic turnout for my first event as Captain of the Kimpton Golf Society, with 32 players taking part, including nine guests—great to see such strong support. We kicked things off with a full English breakfast, which, as always, went down a treat. It was a freezing start and the rain threatened to make an appearance, but thankfully it mostly held off and the sun eventually broke through, making for generally good playing conditions. The course was i

October 2025 - Mid Herts
CAPTAINS REPORT A short trip to Mid Herts concluded the 2025 programme and our 50th year. Our 28th visit where we have played 1974 rounds of golf. The whole team at the club - green keepers, kitchen, bar and hub - deserved a big thank you for a great day for the 35 golfers who were joined by non-playing members for a hearty breakfast. Simon Thompson kindly provided prizes for the winners on the day (see below). Ricki Easton won the fourball voucher donated by the club. Than

2025 Trip - Heacham Manor
CAPTAINS REPORT Sometimes things just work out for the best. The 2025 Trip was destined to go elsewhere until a phone call from Heacham Manor, whilst playing the 14th at Mid Herts, convinced me otherwise. A really enjoyable trip, with compliments received about the hotel, rooms, food , staff and the varied and challenging course which certainly tested you if you got out of position. Congratulations to the winners of the Trophies and other prizes (see below). Most importantl

September 2025 - West Herts
CAPTAINS REPORT Captains Day was at West Herts on a great course in perfect golfing weather, my weather correspondent reported 7 drops of rain. The golf, some good, some bad and some sandy, was followed by an excellent meal. Congratulations to all the winners, once we had worked out who had actually won!!! Thanks as always to the Captains team and volunteers. See you at Heacham Manor for the trip or the last event of the year at Mid Herts. Once again off to admini
